Confessions of a first time card maker...

Ive just starting receiving supplies that i have ordered in the post, among which i have the standard materials; glue, card, envelopes.... but i've also sneaked in some treats as well in the form of patterned card, embellishments and a case to store everything in I think i went a bit over board on my first card making shopping spree online!! Does anyone have any good tips to get me going? Im looking forward to getting my hands on the Popular Crafts Guide to card making on 3rd March to help get my creative juices flowing! Kate xx

I think the first thing is to look at how other people use their supplies for inspiration, it can be overwhelming looking at a huge stack of paper! Some of my favourites card designers are Adele and Elaine I'd definitely have a look at what they're doing! Rubber stamp centrepieces seem to be extremely fashionable at the minute, as are embellishments such as ribbons and buttons, once you've found your style I'm sure you will have no problem at all!

I have now got some lovely stamps and toppers etc to start me off Will keep everyone up to date and post a pic (even if it is a disaster!) of the first card i make - wish me luck!! Any tips welcome! Kxxx
