All Tied Up
By Popular Crafts Magazine
This is a fresh modern floral arrangement to make in the comfort of your own home it will look like you have paid a lot of money for it in a trendy florist shop.
YOU WILL NEED
- Nine Aspidistra leaves
- 30 Yellow Tulips – (As an alternative, 10 each of yellow, red and orange can look stunning too).
- Twine or string.
1 Fold the Aspidistra leaves in half and tie with a piece of twine or string. Take 10 of the Tulips and, holding them in your hand, start to lay the flowers on top of each other, turning so the stems form a spiral shape. Tie the stems together with some twine.
2 Take three of the Aspidistra leaves and tie around the 10 Tulips to form a collar. Repeat this so you have three mini bunches of flowers.
3 Take the three bunches and place together, again overlapping so as to form a spiral effect with the stems. Tie them together with more twine and place in a lovely vase.
Hints & Tips
- Stripping the Tulips of all excess leaves will make the flowers last longer and stop the water from going green.
- Change the water in the vase every other day.
- Keep away from direct sunlight and heat, i.e. radiators.
